A Brief Update on New IMI Orphans
Two year old Mariel Lopez Gomez and her six month old baby brother are two of the most recent arrivals at our IMI orphanage. These children were rescued from an abusive home. Mariel is so protective of her little brother that she refers to him as her baby. Like a mother, she is always worried about his safety. A particularly touching moment occurred recently when the young boy was taken to his doctor’s appointment. Mariel was concerned about him, she cried and persistently asked where her baby was. After his doctor’s appointment, the six month old was greeted with tight hugs and comfort from his adoring sister. Fortunately, Mariel has grown to trust our workers, especially Delcy. Delcy has taken the time to let Mariel know that she and her brother are safe and loved. Mariel now runs to Delcy who she calls her mommy. This story has also touched Delcy’s heart who thanks God for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these children.

Teresa Stamman Report:
My trip to Huanuco was a great experience! The kids were waiting to meet me since the orphanage started and were very excited when they were able to meet me. The children loved opening up the presents IMI was able to give them. I stayed the night at the orphanage with the kids and we stayed up all night talking and playing games. The next day we went to see the new orphanage that was built in April by Carlos. This building will hold 16-18 kids. We had a great one hour drive up to the mountains. Siriapampa is the community where we have 17 acre of beautiful land. We hope to use the land to build things like homes for abandoned kids, a church, a regular school, a technical school,a barn to raise animals, and a farm.
We need to finish the roof, put doors and windows in, put in flooring, and finish the water installation.
At night we had church meeting at the orphanage. We had around 30 people plus the kids of the orphanage. God gave me a great message to preach at the church service. The meeting was very powerful filled with words of prophesy and broken hearts being healed by God.
The next day I took the kids out to eat and went shopping. We enjoyed our precious time together. I bought boots to a 7 year old child named Keilin and her sister got a pair of pants that didn’t fit so I told her that I will buy her whatever she wanted. She was shy and asked for a pair of boots. When I bought her the boots, she started crying and hugged me. She thanked me gratefully and said "I have never had anybody buy me anything because my parents died". I felt like God was giving them love through me that put tears in my eyes. I was so thankful to Christ that I could bring happiness to these little girls.
I also had a meeting with the ministry Comunidad Cristiana en Accion (CCFA) that we are partnering with about how we can keep working together to help more kids in Huanuco. It is one of the most oppressed areas in Peru. Huanuco has the highest percentage of incest in the country.
Also I was able to witness in Lima to my family. A few of them gave their lives to Christ. God gave me prophetic words some of the people there.
I am still in Peru through the month of August. I’m trying to make connections with other ministries and also trying to find more land in other areas of Peru. Our ministry is also looking to start business opportunities there because Peru is one of the most stable countries in South America.
Pray for us to find people that have hearts to help the kids in Peru .

Honduras 2009 Missions Trip |
|
Our annual July Missions trip grows every year. This year we had over 65 people come down with us. On Wednesday, July 1 we had a women's conference with over 200 women attending. We had a youth night where 400 teens came from our IMI churches in Honduras to worship God. Isaac Fleming and Phil Stamman were able to speak at that event.
Friday, July 3 we visited our farm and saw the second orphanage that is being built there. We then went over to the garbage dump and passed out food to about 40 people that live there. It was a powerful experience that is impossible to justify with words. Kids and their parents live among the garbage dumps waiting for the dumpsters to bring them "food". We were able to bless them with a real meal. The experience brought tears to many of the people on the trip. That night Pastor Manual, Pastor Alberto, and Tom Stamman were able to preach at a packed out church.
Throughout the week, our missionaries were able to work and spend time with the children at the orphanage. We repainted and fixed up the orphanage. We were able to put in a soccer goal at the orphanage for the kids. Spending time loving on the kids at the orphanage is a life changing experience. People that don't speak a word of Spanish were able to connect with the kids because love speaks louder than any word ever could.
On Sunday we held a church service where an estimated 1,600-1,900 people gave their lives to Christ. After the service we handed out food and drinks and were able to feed an estimated 2,8000 people. Later that day,we handed out the rest of the food to the community witnessing to them. Hundreds more people received Christ.
The trip was a blessing not only to the people of Honduras, but also to the missionaries. A point often made by the missionaries is that they come to bless and serve the people of Honduras, and they discover by the end of trip that they are the ones that were truly blessed.
